All Winter Sport / Club Pictures (except Wrestling and Archery) will be taken during the school day on December 6th. A list of the clubs are:Student Council, Spell Bowl, Robotics Club, Band, FCA, Thinking Cap, 7th & 8th Grade Choir, Beta, 7th & 8th Grade Dance, 6th Grade Dance, 6th Grade Boys Basketball, 6th Grade Girls Basketball, 7th Grade Boys Basketball, 7th Grade Girls Basketball, 8th Grade Boys Basketball, 8th Grade Girls Basketball, 7th & 8th Grade Cheer, 6th Grade Cheer & Geography Bowl. Wrestling and Archery will both be taken directly after school on February 9th.
Today's dodgeball tournament is ONLY for students and staff. For this event, we cannot allow any outside spectators to attend. Thank you for your understanding!
Today, we celebrate Education Support Professionals Day as a part of American Education Week. Our support staff go above and beyond in helping us keep students safe, healthy, and ready to learn. Thank you for your dedication, efforts, and contributions!

During American Education Week, we celebrate public education and the men and women who make a difference in our schools and students' lives every day.
In the afternoon on Friday, November 18th, Student Council will be hosting a Dodgeball Tournament Fundraiser! Team sign ups will be November 14, 15, and 16 during lunch. All team members must be present with their money to sign up. Teams are by grade-level only! Any SMS student is welcome to create a team and sign up!
Betas all over the nation collected socks for local organizations throughout October (otherwise known as Socktober). Here are a few of our SMS Betas with the socks collected during the month.
Today Mrs. Ridge's 6th Grade Advisory Class welcomed Dr. Dustin Ellis! Dr. Ellis informed students about his educational journey, the difference between rural medicine and urban medicine, and what it's like to be a family practice doctor. We appreciate him taking the time to share his knowledge with our students!

Last week Sodexo visited at lunch and invited our SMS students to try some new foods!
Student council will be selling birthday surprises for $2! Students can pick up the form on the information table and return it to Mrs. Wells, along with their money, at least 1 week prior to the birthday celebration. Parents, if you are interested in purchasing these for your students, please contact Mrs. Wells or stop by the office.
Today Mrs. Borden's advisory class welcomed Diana Cannito as their career guest speaker! Diana is a freelance graphic designer who helped our students realize how much graphic design is a part of their every day lives! We were glad to hear about her experiences.
Red Ribbon Week is next week! We will be having Spirit Week and activities during the week.
