Red Ribbon Week Spirit Days October 23-27

Upcoming Dates

Archery
Students in grades 3-5 may sign-up for archery in the office. There will be a parent meeting on the 30th in the multipurpose room at the middle school at 7 p.m. for those whose children are interested.
Basketball
5th/6th grade basketball schedule for the week of 10/23 (all practices are in SES gym)
5th/6th boys - Tuesday 7:00-8:30
5th girls - Tuesday 5:30-7:00
6th girls - Tuesday 3:00-4:30, Thursday 3:00-4:30
Starting the week of 10/31 the weekly practice schedule will be:
5th/6th boys- Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday 7:00-8:30
5th girls- Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday 5:30-7:00
6th girls- Monday and Wednesday 5:30-7:00, Tuesday and Thursday 3:00-4:30
If your student will be staying after school for practice you MUST have that in Pick-Up Patrol or they will not be allowed to stay.
Cheer
Sign-ups are in the office for any 5th grader interested in signing up for cheer. The first practice will take place after school until 4 on Nov. 2nd at the SMS gym. A physical MUST be on file & they need to be signed up on Final Forms in order to participate. If your student will be staying after school for practice you MUST have that in Pick-Up Patrol or they will not be allowed to stay.
Spell Bowl
Spell Bowl practices will take place in Ms. Lincoln’s third grade classroom after school until 4:30 on the following dates: 10/23, 10/26, 10/30, 11/2, 11/6, 11/9 (*Dates are subject to change). Pickup will be at the front entrance.
If your student will be staying after school for practice you MUST have that in Pick-Up Patrol or they will not be allowed to stay.
Dance Team
Dance practice will be every Wednesday from 3-4pm in the elementary gym. You must have a physical on file and Final Forms must be completed in order to participate. If your student plans to stay you MUST put that in Pick-Up Patrol.
Trunk or Treat
We will be hosting a Trunk or Treat Halloween Parade event on Friday, October 27th during the school day for all SES students. If any organizations or individuals would like to participate, please contact the school office. This “Trunk or Treat” activity is for students, staff, and sponsors only.
Students may wear Halloween costumes to school on this day. Costumes should be appropriate for school and follow dress code guidelines. Face paint and masks are permissible. Mask should only be work during the “Trunk or Treat” activity and not inside the school building.
Sullivan 4-H
Sullivan County 4-H Enrollment is now open!
Parents can go to v2.4honline.com to enroll/re-enroll their children in 4-H for 2024.
Grades are as of January 1, 2024.
• Mini 4-H is Kindergarten through 2nd grade.
• Regular 4-H is 3rd through 12th grade.
Mini 4-H is free. Regular 4-H cost is $15. Please pay online or cash or check at the Extension Office. Make checks payable to: Purdue CES Ed Fund.

Homework Helps
Homework helps will take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays after school until 4:10. If you would like your child to participate, you may contact your child’s teacher to get them signed up. If your student plans to stay you MUST put that in Pick-Up Patrol.
Beta
Beta members are collecting food for Brown Baggers for the month of October. Betas have a list of items needed.
Beta Club meetings will take place on the following Wednesdays after school in the cafeteria: 10/25, 11/1, 11/8. Students may be picked up at 4:00 at door 23 located by the gym. If your student plans to stay you MUST put that in PickUp Patrol.

Beta Convention
The Beta Club Convention will take place on November 9th and November 10th at the Old National Events Plaza in Evansville, IN. Convention projects have been announced and the convention information packets have been sent home with those students. Maddog’s Bowling League
There are forms in the office to sign-up for youth bowling leagues through Maddog’s Restaurant and Bowl. Leagues last 12 weeks and run from 10/2/23-12/18/23. They will be 3 person teams and have 2 games per week. Cost is $15 per kid and includes shoes and a pizza party at the end. Forms are to be turned in at Maddog’s Restaurant and Bowl.

Monday, 10/23 – Lasagna Roll Up with Breadstick, Rib BQ Sandwich, Ham & Cheese Sub, Carrots, Fruit, Milk.
Tuesday, 10/24 – Mozzarella Stuffed Breadsticks with Marinara Sauce, Cheeseburger, Fruit & Yo To-Go Box, Baked Beans, Fruit, Milk.
Wednesday, 10/25 – Orange Chicken Rice Bowl w/Breadstick, Hot Dog, Chef Salad with Breadsticks, Roasted Broccoli, Fruit, Milk.
Thursday, 10/26 – Breakfast for Lunch: Omelet & Cinnamon Stick, Crispy Chicken Sandwich, Chef Salad with Breadsticks, Potato, Fruit, Milk.
Friday, 10/20 – Pepperoni Pizza, Cheese Pizza, Chef’s Sub, Seasoned Green Beans, Fruit, Milk.
