Dear Parents/Guardians and Students
Device Collection Week of May 22nd 2023
Southwest School Corporation wishes to thank everyone for another successful 2022-23 school year.
As we approach then end of this school year on Thursday May 25th, it is time for the collection of student
chromebooks, chromebook chargers, hotspots (if a hotspot was loaned to you), and hotspot chargers. Also all
students were also issued a lunch badge with a lanyard at the beginning of the year and we would like to
collect those items and update the lunch cards for use next school year over the summer.
The tech staff would like to collect all devices, chargers, and lunch cards/lanyards before the last day of school
on Thursday May 25th before students leave for summer break. Lunch cards and lanyards may be collected the
last day of school if the student goes through the lunch line on May 25th, unless the students want to turn those
lunch cards/lanyards in with their Chromebook and/or hotspot before the last day of school. As a reminder all
chromebooks and hotspots will have access shut off beginning Friday May 26th and attempts will be made to
collect any equipment not collected this last week of school over the summer.
The collection date for your student’s school is:

If you wish to turn in equipment before the due dates above, please bring into the school and office staff will
see all items get to the technology department in your school. If you student forgets part of the equipment (i.e.
charger or hotspot or chromebook) be sure your students name is on the equipment and bring it to school the
next day and we will get them marked off the list of missing equipment. All equipment turned in on collection
days will be placed in a two gallon zip lock bag so that items turned in are credited to the student and the
student will not be charged for any missing equipment. We will be sending out reminder emails every Friday
the month of May as a reminder of these collections of equipment. There will be a charge for any missing

The Methodist Church west door is unlocked if you need to take shelter this afternoon.

After much consideration and discussion, the SWSC will have an elearning day Wednesday, April 5 due to the potential for severe weather. Assignments will be posted by 9 am. Students without Internet will not be penalized if they cannot complete assignments.

In response to the many "How can I help?" requests, we would love for our impacted students and their families to receive Easter blessing cards with an enclosed gift certificate. Many of these families have lost everything. These cards would brighten their day, become a cherished treasure, and lighten their burden in a time and manner of their choosing. Cards may be dropped off until noon Thursday. We will divide the cards out and get them to our impacted students and families.

The SWSC will be on a one-hour delay Tuesday, April 4.

Reminder Sports Physicals TOMORROW. Cost is $10, Forms and money must be turned in tomorrow.

Good afternoon. As we return from spring break with heavy hearts, the SWSC will be operating on a two-hour delay tomorrow, Monday, April 3. As our community continues to recover and heal from Friday's storm, our ongoing thoughts and prayers go out to all those affected. Bus routes in affected areas will be running on limited access. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact your school or the superintendent's office Monday morning. ~ Chris Stitzle, SWSC Superintendent

The Southwest School Corporation sends thoughts and prayers to our students, families, staff, and community members affected by last night's severe weather. We are coordinating efforts to help identify impacted students and staff and will support our SWSC families in the days and weeks ahead.
At this time, the Red Cross has set up a shelter at the Abundant Grace House of Prayer Church, behind Walmart, for those needing immediate assistance.
