SMS has a full-time School Resource Officer (SRO) in our building! Officer Jim Gadberry has just completed the National Association of School Resource Officers basic course during fall break. The course was held in Vigo County and consisted of 40 hours of training. This course is designed to help officers have the skills and knowledge to fill a triad role in the school system: informal counselor, teacher, and law enforcement officer. Our SRO's play a huge role in keeping our schools safe, leading by example, and promoting a positive image of law enforcement among our kids and community. We are lucky to have them! Congratulations to Officer Gadberry.
