CAREER RESOURCE CENTER OPENS AT SHS

The new Southwest School Corporation Career Resource Center (CRC) is enjoying a very busy first semester at Sullivan High School. The CRC provides a space for students to learn about college and career opportunities and to meet requirements for dual credit classes.  Additionally, the CRC recently co-sponsored a college and military fair at SHS and college campus visits for middle and high school students. The CRC also provides career counseling and assistance with college applications and scholarships.

The CRC is also a meeting place for local businesses to offer their ideas on career education and development and to make connections with possible student interns and future employees. Tammy Young, College/Career Connection Coach explained, "My goal is to help prepare students for a successful college and career experience that will benefit not only themselves, but the business for which they will be employed."
