Observed annually on the first Friday in May, this day honors the dedication of school nutrition staff who prepare healthy meals, follow strict safety standards, and serve every student with care and kindness. School Lunch Hero Day was inspired by author Jarrett J. Krosoczka to recognize the important role these professionals play in our schools.
At Southwest School Corporation, we are grateful for our cafeteria teams who go above and beyond to support our students and families.
Please join us in thanking our School Lunch Heroes!

Our teachers go far beyond delivering lessons, they inspire curiosity, build relationships, create safe and supportive classrooms, and help every student reach their full potential. Their dedication, patience, and passion are the foundation of our schools and our community.
From early learning to graduation, our educators shape futures, open doors, and leave a lasting impact that extends well beyond the classroom.
To all of our teachers across Southwest Schools, thank you for your commitment, your compassion, and the countless ways you support our students and families.
We appreciate you this week and every week.

Happy Principal Appreciation Day to our outstanding administrators! Your dedication to students, staff, and our community does not go unnoticed. Thank you for the leadership, care, and commitment you bring to Southwest Schools.
We are grateful for all that you do! 💜💛

They are inviting students and parents to take a short, 2-minute survey to share your thoughts and help improve their services. Your input is important in ensuring they are meeting the needs of our entire school community.
The survey will close on May 1, so please take a moment to participate.

They went mushroom hunting and the kids had a blast exploring and finding different kinds. Briar Chastain found the most out of everyone, so he got to take the whole haul home!
Super fun day for the students and Ms. Phegley… can’t beat learning science in the woods!
