BASED ON THE INDIANA DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH RECOMMENDATIONS

BLUE: Minimal Community Spread
Schools operate all grades in person taking all proper precautions including maximizing social distancing, focus on hand hygiene, masks.
Limit activities where social distancing is not feasible.
Southwest School Corporation will operate on the following schedule:
o K-5 = In-Person Learning – Monday through Friday
o 6-12 = In-Person Learning – Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, & Friday
Online/E-Learning - Wednesday
Extra-curricular activities to follow state and local event gathering guidelines with social distancing and masks except when doing strenuous activity.
Limit spectators in accordance with state and local guidelines
YELLOW: Moderate Community Spread
Schools may continue all grades in person but should be vigilant in taking all precautions including maximizing social distancing, focus on hand hygiene and masks.

ORANGE - Moderate to High Community Spread
Schools may continue in-person instruction especially in grades K-8, but decisions should be made in consultation with local health department and include consideration of ability to maintain social distancing, enforce hand hygiene, and wearing of masks.

o 6-12 = In-Person Learning – Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, & Friday
Online/E-Learning - Wednesday
No assemblies or large group activities.
If the school environment sees a significant increase in positive cases and/or home isolated or quarantine staff or students the corporation could move to an alternate or virtual schedule in grades K-12. This could be school specific or district wide. If this becomes necessary information will be sent to parents and guardians outlining the changes.

Wearing a mask at all times is required. Athletic competitors may remove mask during active competition. While on the bench or not in the game, athletes should socially distance and wear masks.
Red - High Community Spread
Schools may continue in-person instruction, especially in grades K-8, but decisions should be made in consultation with local health officials and include consideration of ability to maintain social distancing, enforce hand hygiene, and wearing of masks.
Schools may consider hybrid instruction for high school students in consultation with local health officials.

Red: Athletic teams only. No cheer or dance or band. Up to 2 tickets per player for parents/guardians only. Board Approved 11-18-20
Changing a County’s Color Code Status
- A county must meet the metrics/score of a less restrictive category for the two consecutive weeks before being allowed to move to that category.
- A county will be moved to a more restrictive category whenever the county’s metric/score rises to a higher category.
