At this time, Southwest School Corporation will move to the recommended guidelines from Sullivan County Health Department (Listed below in Bold) for conducting extra-curricular activities for ORANGE status which includes: limiting spectators, wearing masks, and promoting social distancing.
Orange: Athletic teams only. No cheer or dance or band. Up to 4 tickets per player for parents/guardians/siblings.
PARENTS AND GUARDIANS: Please be prepared for possible adjustments to the plan throughout the school year as we strive to adhere to state and local guidelines. These adjustments could result in a change to the school schedule. I certainly appreciate your flexibility!!
It is important to have a plan developed and ready to implement for your child if a schedule change becomes necessary.
PARENT REMINDER: SELF-SCREENING for COVID-19 Symptoms
Southwest School Corporation (SWSC) will require all parents/guardians to self-screen their child(ren) for symptoms of COVID-19 each morning before school.
Symptoms Impacting Consideration for Exclusion from School:
- CHILLS or FEVER of 100.4 degrees or greater
- COUGH, especially new onset, uncontrolled cough
- Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
- HEADACHE, particularly new onset of severe headache with fever
- SORE THROAT
- NEW LOSS of taste or smell
Students should be excluded from school if they test positive for COVID-19 or exhibit one or more of the symptoms of COVID-19 based on CDC Guidance that is not otherwise explained.
Please feel free to contact Susan Tincher, SWSC Nurse, with any questions or concerns at 812-268-3341, extension 2765, or email stincher@swest.k12.in.us.
The key for keeping our schools open is to continue to follow the recommended guidelines from the CDC, Indiana Department of Health, and Sullivan County Department of Health.
We do this by continuing these practices.....
· WEARING OUR MASKS
· SOCIAL DISTANCING
· WASHING OUR HANDS
· STAYING HOME WHEN WE ARE SICK
Thanks again for support of the SWSC!!!
