Modified Schedule
Posted on 08/24/2020

Dear SWSC Middle & High School Families,

Starting the week of August 24, 2020 the Southwest School Corporation will implement a modified schedule at Sullivan High School, Sullivan Middle School, and Carlisle Middle School. The modified schedule will consist of 4 in-person school days and 1 eLearning/online learning day. The modified schedule will assist in the delivery of the Southwest School Corporation Virtual Education Program.

The schedule in GRADES 6-12 will be as follows:

  •  MONDAY – IN-PERSON LEARNING
  • TUESDAY – IN-PERSON LEARNING
  • WEDNESDAY – ONLINE/E-LEARNING (Students do assignments from home)
  • THURSDAY - IN-PERSON LEARNING
  • FRIDAY – IN-PERSON LEARNING

Note: Carlisle Elementary School and Sullivan Elementary School will remain on 5 day in-person learning at this time.

Special Notes:

  • Life Skills classes provided by the Greene-Sullivan Special Education Cooperative at Sullivan Middle School will continue to operate on 5 days of in-person instruction.
  • The following vocational classes provided by Twin Rivers Vocational: Welding, Machine Trades, Automotive, Health Careers, Building Trades, & Cosmetology. These classes will continue to operate on 5 days of in-person instruction.
  • Students without internet access at home need to contact their building principal to check on the availability of a portable hot spot or working from school on the Wednesday online/eLearning day.
  • We are also exploring an opportunity for middle school students to attend in-person on the Wednesday online/eLearning day for enrichment activities. More information will be coming from your principal. This would be optional, not required.

As I have stressed this year is going to require patience, flexibility, and cooperation from all stakeholders.

I have also shared there will be many challenges and changes as we move through this school year and we determine what is working and what is not working. This will require parents, teachers, staff, and students to have patience. I will do my best to make the decisions I believe are necessary to promote the safety of all stakeholders and provide a quality education to our students.

No matter what happens if we work together we can make this year a success!

I appreciate your support of the Southwest School Corporation.
