SWSC Receives $25k Grant for Stem Education
Posted on 09/19/2018
Southwest School Corporation received a $25k grant from America's Farmers Grow Rural Education, sponsored by Monsanto Fund.

The district plans to use the grant to bring the world of STEM to all K-8th grade students, igniting students' love of the STEM disciplines. SWSC K-8th grade teachers will be learning about and using STEM technologies and lessons to provide engaging, hands-on learning that is relevant—connecting what students are learning to the real world—and accessible for all students. These meaningful learning activities will also provide students the opportunity to cultivate skills, such as problem-solving, teamwork, intuitive thinking, and communication, desired by employers. All activities within this K-8th grade STEM project supports SWSC's mission to prepare all students to be career-ready, responsible students who are equipped to compete and prosper in the world in which they will live and work.

This project was made possible by local farmers and America’s Farmers Grow Rural Education, sponsored by the Monsanto Fund.
