Announcements December 13, 2017

Today is December 13, 2017

Menu change for December 14th!!  Marsha and her bunch of wonderful workers will be making a Christmas meal available for everyone.  We love their holiday meals!  They will serve ham, mashed potatoes, corn, fruit, roll, and ice cream treat!  This will be the only option this day.  They put a lot of effort into making a special dinner for us.  We appreciate all they do!

SCIENCE OLYMPIAD is hosting Carlisle’s Not Got Talent contest on Tuesday, December 19th during the school day.  Anyone who wants to show off their talent or lack of talent can sign up on the middle school bulletin board.  Everyone can vote by placing bills in the bucket of their favorite talent.  All proceeds go to Science Olympiad.

CHRISTMAS WEAR DAY is on Wednesday, December 20th!  It can be cute and pretty or it can be ugly as can be-just as long as it’s a Christmas theme.  It’s always a fun time to show off your Christmas attire!  We can’t wait to see what you come up with!

The PTO still has a few poinsettia’s available for purchase.  The price has lowered! The 4″ red pots are $5.  The 6″ pots are $10 and there are red, pink, and white choices.  Call or come by the school to get yours for the holidays!

CHEER this week has changed:  Tuesday’s (12/12) cheer practice will be 7/8th grade.  Thursday’s (12/14) will be 5/6th grade!

CARLISLE DANCE TEAM is hosting a FREE Christmas Dance Clinic for K-5th grade.  Kindergarten and 1st grade will learn their dance routine during their PE class time.  2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades will learn routine at an after-school clinic on Wednesday, December 13th from 3-4:30pm.  The performance will be during half time of the 5th grade game on Thursday, December 14th.  Students performing get into the basketball game for free but parents will need to pay the $3 admission.  Permission/participation slips will be sent home soon.  Please indicate whether your child wants to participate at the game.  This is open to BOYS and GIRLS!  It’s going to be FUN!!

Remember that all athletes MUST have a physical on file in the school office before you can participate in ANY practice.

Also remember: Students are not to stay in the building after school for any reason unless supervised by a coach or designated adult.

  • don’t do recipes that are too easy or too complicated
  • try to avoid recipes with a lot of sugar or fat in them

Judges will consider the following 6 criteria:

  • taste
  • originality
  • ease of preparation
  • healthy attributes
  • kid appeal
  • plate presentation

The use of one or more of the following ingredients will earn up to 3 bonus points at the judging:

Low Sodium Soy Sauce, Low Sodium Teriyaki Sauce, Brown Rice, Bok Choy, Fresh Mushrooms, Lean Chicken, Lean Pork, Rice Noodles, Tofu, Garlic & Ginger.

Parents, please check your child’s Harmony Account so you know what their lunch balance is at all times.

CONCESSIONS:  After school concessions are every day after school.  There will be Gatorade, chips, candy bars for sale.  Please do not send large bills with your child.  We do not have a lot of change.  If we don’t have change, then your child won’t be able to purchase their snack.

Parents or guardians enter their phone numbers, address, emergency contacts, etc. when registering your child(ren) for school every year.  This is information that is very important.  You should be looking at that and, if necessary, be changing it.  If you move to a different address-you should change it in Harmony.  If you get a new phone number-you should change it in Harmony.  If you want to change your emergency contacts-you should change it in Harmony.  If there are old contacts that are no longer used-you should change it in Harmony. These records need to be kept current. We will not be able to contact you in an emergency situation if our records are not accurate.  Please call the school office if you need assistance.

We respectfully ask that all after school instructions for where your child needs to go be done before they leave home in the morning.  A note for your child’s teacher is the easiest.  Your child cannot get on a bus other than their regular scheduled bus unless they have a note from their parent stating they have your permission.  IF you have to call the office, please do so before 2pm.

Please remember: Students are not to stay in the building after school for any reason unless supervised by a coach or designated adult.
